Updates

The game looks sharper than ever, and the server and website are more reliable.

• Ultra HD: the world is drawn at twice the resolution and smoothed, and it's on by default. Choose HD, Ultra HD or off in the graphics menu under the game.
• On mobile, the new HD button in the touch bar switches between off, HD and Ultra HD.
• The website now stays up while the game restarts, and the hiscores keep working from everyone's last save.
• The hiscores rank players by total level, with experience breaking ties.
• Logins are more reliable when lots of players arrive at once, and a fault in one feature can no longer take the whole server down.

Bank tabs, a Halloween enemy and a better mobile client.

• Bank tabs: drag items onto a tab, or onto + for a new one, to organise your bank.
• The Headless Horsemen haunts Draynor Manor: a level 90 Halloween enemy with fire breath and a pumpkin drop.
• Mobile: a panel at the top shows the name, level and hitpoints of what you're fighting, an arrow hides the tab buttons, and loot now has its own panel.
• Hiscores: see each player's character in 3D with their worn equipment, written in the game's own fonts.
• To keep things fair, each address or device can create one new account every 30 minutes.

The server now has its own website, with live hiscores, this updates page and a Play button.

• Hiscores update in real time: players who are online show their current stats.
• Search the hiscores for any player to see their rank in every skill.
• Play opens the game in your browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

New ways to tell us about problems, a new way to see the world, and quicker loading.

• Bug button: report a bug with your exact location. Check its status in the My reports tab.
• Report button (where Ignore List used to be): report a player and say what happened.
• First-person view: press the helmet button above your Hitpoints globe.
• Online Players: click a name to send that player a private message.
• The game downloads about three times faster thanks to compression.

The server has moved to revision 295 (14 February 2005), which brings the Slayer skill.

• Get tasks from the Slayer masters and fight Slayer monsters across the world.
• The Slayer Tower is open, with its own floors, doors and monsters.
• The abyssal whip now has its attack-style icons and a working special attack.
• Running now trains Agility, and faster when you carry more weight.

The server is open. Every account is a member, forever, and all skills earn 2.5x experience.

• Skip Tutorial Island by talking to the RuneScape Guide.
• Trade with other players from anywhere through the Grand Exchange button.
• Search your bank, see who is online and use Global chat to talk to everyone.
• Play on a phone with the mobile client, built for touch screens.
